care is all about following a few simple guidelines to ensure your laptop
battery lasts several years and maintains a good level of power storing ability.
Laptop battery care is little known and many people do not realise that their
laptop battery will not last as long as their laptop. Laptop batteries do
need to be replaced periodically but with some care they should work efficiently
for a few years.
Probably the most important laptop battery care tip is to always use A/C power
wherever possible. The less you use the laptop battery the longer it will
last and the less its power storing capability will be eroded.
Its best to completely remove your battery from the laptop if you are not
going to use the laptop for more than a month. Store the battery in a cool,
dry place.
Now for a little known battery care tip. Your laptop actually still uses its
battery very slightly even when connected to A/C power. If you have purchased
a new battery, try to use your old battery when the laptop is connected to
mains power and save your new battery for when you need battery power alone.
This way your new battery will last longer.
